Description
This role serves as the primary technical authority at active drill sites, ensuring high-quality, accurate, and auditable geological data while aligning drilling operations with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily drilling activities, ensuring alignment with geological targets and technical plans
- Manage drill hole collaring, orientation, and spatial accuracy of all drilling data
- Monitor and guide directional drilling to ensure precise target intersection
- Coordinate with geophysics teams to ensure efficient surveying and minimal downtime
- Enforce strict safety, environmental, and operational compliance standards
- Exercise stop-work authority where safety, environmental, or data quality risks arise
- Maintain and update geological databases and produce daily and weekly technical reports
- Support real-time geological interpretation and contribute to resource model development
- Mentor junior geology staff and support team development
Requirements
- Degree in Geology or Earth Sciences or related.
- A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.
- Experience in core logging and mineralisation identification (Cu-Ni-Co preferred)
- Proficiency in Datamine Geo and ArcGIS (training provided); experience with Fusion and KRUX is advantageous
- Strong communication, leadership, and contractor management skills
- Ability to work in remote field environments and at active drill sites
